This week, we held four regional online ‘safety stand down’ meetings, with our engineering group. It was great to catch up with the team after the Christmas period and importantly, to share three key messages, safety leadership, communication and investment.  SHEQ remains a key priority across our business and our industry and therefore featured prominently within the meeting.

Says Simon Cutler, SHEQ Lead “it’s vital that as a business we engage and communicate effectively with our engineers. Managing a mobile engineering team can have challenges around message consistency, so I am delighted that we had our team together (albeit virtually to maximise safety) so we could share important SHEQ updates and improvements to developing procedures, as we seek to drive business efficiencies, strengthen collaboration across the teams and effectively communicate critical safety messages within United Plant.”

During the online meetings, the group also reviewed last years’ safety performance and discussed the importance of communicating effectively, such as safety gains (safety improvements and opportunities that can be identified by everyone). United Plant has a very clear ‘safety first’ philosophy and safety leadership from all our employees will be a big steer throughout 2022. With the support of our parent company Briggs Equipment, our goal is to lead the way for safe engineering solutions in our industry.

“Clear communication, clear ownership and unquivering commitment to SHEQ, remains our top priority,” concludes Simon.

Think Safe. Be Safe. No Compromise.
