This week, the United Plant team are embarking on a fun challenge as part of our fundraising effort for BBC Children in Need.

There is a total of 275 miles in distance from our Cannock head office facility in Staffordshire, to our Cumbernauld office in Glasgow and the team have committed to covering this distance through biking, running, swimming, dog-walking – every step counts. This means that everyone can get involved, including our field-based engineers.

Starting today, Monday 15th and running until Friday 19th November, the Cannock team have brought an exercise bike into the office and will be taking it in turns to cover some miles. Pictured here is Service Controller, Erin Brewster, who is the first team member to begin the challenge – well done Erin!

On Friday 19th November, BBC One will be hosting a live appeal show for Children in Need, which promises to be a jam-packed evening of entertainment. Each year the charity raises millions of pounds, and the money raised will help support local charities and projects, who are providing essential frontline help to children and young people in communities throughout the UK.

Says Lisa Sheppard, Office Manager, “we are really looking forward to our challenge this week, it promises to be a lot of fun and we are always keen to support charity work where we can. Children in Need is a high-profile charity for excellent causes and we are delighted to be joining the fundraising efforts.”
