We are proud to be supporting Mental Health Awareness Week (15-2 May).
The ‘Just’ Anxiety?’ campaign, launched by the Mental Health Foundation this year, aims to help people and organisations to understand the difference between anxiety and anxiety disorders and to confidently seek and signpost each other to the right support.
Did you know that anxiety disorders affect over 8 million people in the UK? Plus, there are lots of different types of anxiety such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). General anxiety disorder is most common in people aged between 35 and 59. And women are twice as likely to be diagnosed, although this may be because they’re also more likely to ask for help!
Here at United plant, we encourage all our employees to have open and honest conversations about their wellbeing. With a very supportive parent – Briggs Equipment – we are proud to offer a wellness centre that signposts support and advice for our colleagues, if help is needed.
Anxiety is a common emotion that everyone will have experienced at some point in their lives. Adopting techniques to help manage emotions is proven, however when anxiety impacts on your quality of life and mental health, it is time to seek help.
Let’s keep up the positive conversation. Be kind to yourself and your colleagues.
