FUNDRAISING FOR BREAST CANCER NOW CHARITY

Louise Joyce, Estimator at United Plant, is embarking on an emotive challenge, supporting Breast Cancer Now through its ‘Swim 10 Miles’ to raise funds for the charity’s work. 

Breast Cancer Now is a charity who support anyone affected by breast cancer. They are an expert authority on breast cancer research – making breakthroughs and driving forward progress. They want anyone affected by breast cancer to get the best possible treatment and care.

Louise was sadly diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 41, in December 2019.

Says Louise, “this fundraising challenge will allow me to give something back to a charity that helps so many people. It is obviously very close to my heart, after experiencing cancer and receiving treatment and the emotional journey that takes you on.”

Within one month, Louise will swim 10 miles at her local swimming baths and has now completed her first swim. “After 18 months of no exercise whilst I was in recovery, I have now started swimming 2-3 times a week in preparation for the challenge. I am totally focused on achieving those 10 miles – which is quite an achievement!” concludes Louise.

Breast Cancer Now believe they can change the future of breast cancer and have the belief that, by 2050, everyone diagnosed with the disease lives – and is supported to live well.
